In the course of the requirements of the Clean Energy Package (Article 16 (8) (EU) 2019/943), which provides for a minimum level of transmission capacity for cross-border trade, APG specified a tool that will be used for the future (NTC) Capacity calculation, taking this minimum value into account. In this method, based on a D-2 network model, the network element that limits cross-border electricity trading between the profile AT <-> CZ/HU/SI is determined for a certain trading hour. The tool then calculates the NTCs in such a way, that a predefined minimum capacity for cross-border trade is made possible on this network element. In addition, the tool enables the calculation of minimum capacities for all network elements in the D-2 flow-based capacity calculation.
